October US metal processing machine tool exports increased imports drop

Recently, the American Association for Manufacturing Technology (AMT) is released in October 2010 to the latest statistics the US metalworking machine tools import and export trade. October 2010, the US metalworking machine tool exports grew 29.86 percent and imports grew 69.14%, but exports were declined. 2010 1 ~ 10 months, the US metal processing machine tool exports grew 24.4%, imports finally turned positive from negative, a slight increase of 0.5%. October 2010 US metal processing machine tool exports were down  in October 2010, US exports of metalworking machine tools $ 190.9 million, down 2.5 percent from $ 195.9 million in September, compared with $ 147 million in October 2009 increased by 29.86% . Wherein, in October 2010 exports of CNC machine tools of $ 87.5 million, growth of 1.1%. 2010 1 ~ 10 months, total exports of metalworking machine tools US $ 1,722,400,000, compared with $ 1,384,100,000 for the same period last year, an increase of 24.4%; total exports of CNC machine tools $ 748.5 million, up 35.9 percent from $ 550.8 million the same period last year.   From the product type, in October 2010, US exports of metal-cutting machine tools $ 116.5 million, down 7.7% from last month’s $ 126.2 million; exports of metal forming machine tools of $ 74.4 million and $ 69.7 million the previous month increased by 6.78% . January to October, total exports of metal-cutting machine tools US $ 1,118,500,000, compared with $ 893.9 million the same period last year, an increase of 25.1%; exports of metal forming machine tools $ 603.9 million, compared with $ 490.2 million the same period last year, an increase of 23.2%.   From machine tool export market, in October 2010, Mexico became the largest US metal processing machine tool export market, exports increased 70.3% to $ 33 million more than in September. China is the second largest export market, with exports of US $ 23.1 million, a decline of 47.2%. The rest of the top five markets are: Canada ($ 18.9 million), Taiwan, China ($ 15.8 million) and Germany ($ 7.8 million).  US metal processing machine tool imports from negative to positive  in October 2010, US imports out of metal processing machine tool $ 266.4 million, compared with $ 212.5 million in September increased by 25.4%, a substantial increase of 69.14% over $ 157.5 million in October 2009. Wherein, in October 2010 imports of CNC machine tools $ 188.4 million, growth of 31.3%. 2010 1 ~ 10 months, the United States imported a total of $ 2,094,200,000 metalworking machine tools, compared with $ 2,084,600,000 for the same period last year, a slight increase of 0.5%; total imports of CNC machine tools $ 1,344,800,000, still down 2.5 percent from $ 1,379,500,000 for the same period last year.   From the product type, in October 2010, US imports of metal-cutting machine tools $ 221.6 million, $ 171.3 million last month, an increase of 29.3%; metal forming machine tools imported $ 44.8 million, $ 41.1 million the previous month increased by 8.9% . 1 to 10 months, the United States imported a total of metal-cutting machine tools $ 1,628,300,000, an increase of 0.8 percent from $ 1,614,900,000 for the same period last year; total imports of metal forming machine tools $ 465.9 million, down 0.8 percent from $ 469.6 million the same period last year.   From machine sources of imports of view, Japan and Germany is still the United States the most important machine tool import sources, in October 2010, US imports from Japan Machine Tool $ 112.7 million, growth of 13.4%; imported from Germany, the machine of $ 46 million, growth 85.3%. The rest of the top five sources of imports are: Taiwan and China ($ 17.5 million), Switzerland ($ 15.3 million) and Italy ($ 14.6 million).
